Hi! I’m Jenna Williams!
I grew up in Washington County and have lived here the majority of my life.
In 2017, I moved to Sedona, Arizona where I felt called to pursue my interest in birth work. After a few years of living there, I met Maryn from Indie Birth and enrolled into the Birth Warrior Project to train as a doula.
I moved back to Washington County in 2021 and quickly became pregnant with my son. I felt so blessed to have just taken such an intensive pregnancy, birth and postpartum training that made me feel more prepared than I ever would have been on my own.
I knew right away I wanted a home birth, so the search for a midwife and a doula was on! Through what I can only credit as the Holy Spirit, I managed to find two of the most inspiring and knowledgeable women to work with.
I spent my entire pregnancy preparing for labor and birth. I visited a chiropractor weekly, I followed the Brewer Diet, I tried walking at least a mile a day. I practiced yoga in the mornings and meditated daily. I leaned on my Birth Warrior training heavily and found out just how valuable it truly was.
I also learned just how important it was to have doula support. Even though I was a trained doula, I couldn’t “doula” myself. Knowing my doula was a text away for any questions, thoughts or feelings was a lifesaver. In addition to helping me with resources and information out of my reach, she helped me work through so many tough emotions which felt even more valuable.
I had an empowering home birth to my son in April of 2022 and I’m still taking in all the new changes motherhood brings. Giving birth lit a whole new fire under me for birth work and I was ready to get out there and start supporting families like mine who wanted a similar birthing experience.
I’ve already been meeting likeminded folks in the community and I’m even more excited to start hosting in-person events in the upcoming year! I’m so excited to share my love of home birth with mothers around Washington County.
